3D printing service, shipped across India

Trivedi Mechlab is an FDM 3D printing studio in Ahmedabad. Send an STL, OBJ or 3MF file and we print it in PLA, PETG or ABS/ASA, after a person has checked the model. Every file is priced within 1 working day, and most orders dispatch in 1–3 working days to any address in India.

  1. How does online 3D printing work here?

You upload a file, we check it and email a price within 1 working day, you pay by UPI or bank transfer, and we print and ship.

Every model is opened by a person before it is priced. We look at wall thickness, overhangs that need support, the orientation that keeps the important faces clean, and whether the part fits the printer in one piece.

If something will not print well, the reply says what and why, and how to fix it in your CAD file. You never pay for a print we expect to fail.

Start on the quote page. Choose material, quality, strength, finish and delivery speed there, or pick “Not sure” and we advise.

  2. Which material should I print in?

PLA for indoor parts and models, PETG for parts that take knocks, moisture or sun, and ABS/ASA for heat and outdoor UV.

PLA is stiff and prints the crispest detail, but it softens in a parked car. PETG is tougher and flexes before it cracks, which suits clips, brackets and anything outdoors. ABS and ASA handle the most heat; ASA also resists UV, so it keeps its colour in the sun.

The materials guide compares all three side by side, including what each one does in an Ahmedabad summer.

  3. What files can I send, and how should I export them?

STL, OBJ or 3MF, up to 100 MB each. Export in millimetres if you can.

    • STL: export as binary, not ASCII. It is a fifth of the size and carries the same geometry.
    • 3MF: the best choice when your CAD tool offers it. It keeps units and can hold several parts in one file.
    • Units: tell us on the form if the file is in centimetres or inches, so a 40 mm part does not arrive 40 cm wide.
    • Walls: keep them at least 1.2 mm thick, three passes of a 0.4 mm nozzle, for parts that need to be strong.
  4. How much does 3D printing cost?

The price comes from three things: grams of material, hours on the printer and any finishing, multiplied by the quantity.

That is why we price per file instead of quoting a flat rate per gram. Two parts of the same weight can take very different times: one prints flat in an hour, the other needs supports and three.

    To bring a price down:

    • Choose Standard quality (0.20 mm layers) unless the surface is on show.
    • Keep infill at 25% unless the part carries load.
    • Add a flat face to sit on the bed, so fewer supports are needed.
    • Order several at once: setup and checking are shared across the batch.
  5. How long does it take, and where do you ship?

Most orders dispatch 1–3 working days after payment and go by courier to any address in India.

Large parts, big batches and painted finishes take longer; the quote gives the dispatch date before you pay. Express and Priority delivery move a job up the queue for a surcharge stated in the quote.

QUESTIONS

Asked before the first order.

Can you print a model I downloaded?

Yes, if its licence allows it. Most models on Printables and Thingiverse allow personal prints; selling copies needs a commercial licence from the designer. Send the link with the file and we check before printing.

How accurate is an FDM print?

Accurate enough for fits, housings and brackets when the part is oriented for the dimensions that matter. Mark those dimensions in your notes. If a feature is too fine for a 0.4 mm nozzle, the quote says so before you pay.

Are my files kept private?

Yes. Uploads are stored privately and only the studio can open them. Files from quotes that do not go ahead are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Can you design the part if I only have a sketch?

Yes. That is our custom design service: you send the sketch or the problem, we model it for printing, you approve the CAD, then we print it.

Do you print in batches?

Yes. For 10 or more identical parts, use the bulk orders form. We plan the batch per printer bed and price per part.
